Areas of Professional Expertise & Interest:

Peter Davis is a practising Geotechnical Engineer. He is a NATA signatory for a comprehensive range of tests covering concrete, aggregate and soil. Peter is also comfortable with the theory and practice of a number of other areas of testing (including asphalt). Peter has been a NATA assessor for more than 10 years and served previously on the CMT AAC Committee from 1989 to 1998.

Peter is a director of Ullman & Nolan Consulting Engineers, and has been involved with running the geotechnical division for the past 25 years. It is a multi-discipline consultancy that has historically operated between two and five NATA accredited CMT testing laboratories at any one time.

Mr M Owttrim

Certificate in Civil Engineering

Areas of Professional Expertise & Interest:

Mark Ottrim’s previous experience covers soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, pavement testing and geotechnical areas. In addition to developing electronic testing systems, he currently has a lead role in test method development and the documentation of various laboratory systems and manuals.

Mark is employed by Main Road Queensland as a Laboratory Manager at its principal laboratory complex. He is also the NATA management representative for Construction Materials Testing, Methodology and Chemical Testing fields.

One of his current challenges in chairing a number of department wide technology groups is to develop better relations across industry (particularly in the road building area) through commitment to technology transfer, training and co-operation.
