Course overview

This course combines risk management requirements for testing and calibration laboratories in ISO/IEC 17025 and/or human pathology laboratories in ISO 15189, with best practice risk management practices in ISO 3100, to develop a risk management framework that:

  • conforms with international standards
  • achieves quality outcomes
  • identifies and maximises opportunities for the organisation

The course is designed to meet current industry demand and expectations in risk management to enable effective application of the risk management process in the laboratory context.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • define risk management principles
  • outline the risk management framework and process
  • explain risk management communication and consultation
  • outline risk management scope, context and criteria
  • undertake risk management assessment including risk identification, analysis, evaluation
  • monitor and review risk management
