Expressions of interest sought for the NATA Electrotechnology Testing AAC

01 May 2018

Each field and program within NATA’s accreditation activity has an Accreditation Advisory Committee (AAC). The AAC has a unique and important role within NATA. It provides input to operations within the relevant field or program and advice to the Board at a technical level.

An AAC is a group of experts appointed by the Board on the basis of their knowledge and technical expertise in the area of work covered by the particular field or program of accreditation.  Each person’s appointment is for a fixed term, these being staggered to preserve continuity within the Committee.

The Electrotechnology Testing Accreditation Advisory Committee (ETT AAC) within NATA is seeking an expression of interest to provide expertise in the following area:

  • Lighting product evaluation

Applicants are expected to have:

  • substantial practical experience in the industrial application of those performance and approvals-related testing methods for which they have expert knowledge;
  • demonstrated commitment to the principles of accreditation; and
  • had significant exposure to the NATA accreditation process.

The ETT AAC is established to provide input to NATA’s Electrotechnology Testing field of accreditation in a way that represents the interests of accredited testing facilities and the broader industry.  The term of appointment for new members is five years and is a non-salaried appointment.  Persons who have previously served on the committee are also eligible to apply.  Meetings of the committee are held every 12 to 24 months.

Further information regarding involvement on the ETT AAC may be obtained from the document “Role of the AAC, Chairman and Members” available from the Technical Committees page.

Expressions of interest detailing the candidate’s experience, including a full resume, should be forwarded to the Deputy Sector Manager - Materials, Assets and Products, Mr Marcel Vanderslik, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The closing date for nominations is 25 May 2018.  Successful nominees will be formally invited to participate in the activities of the ETT AAC following the approval of NATA’s Board.
