In February 2025, NATA joined an influential group of orgaisations committed to understanding and shaping the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on our quality infrastructure.
The AIQI Consortium is a global initiative dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by AI. Bringing together organisations from each area of quality infrastructure, the Consortium fosters international cooperation to ensure AI development aligns with societal values, regulatory requirements, and quality infrastructure principles.
The AIQI Consortium aims to:
- Promote Safe and Ethical AI – Helping to ensure the effective evaluation of AI technologies through a rigorous quality infrastructure.
- Support Global Policymaking – Engaging with regulators working on AI legislation to promote balanced governance approaches.
- Guide AI Assurance Frameworks – Providing frameworks for certification, training, and assessment programmes to help them meet future regulatory and market needs.
NATA will participate in the work stream that is dedicated to examination of potential AI assurance structures for the support of regulatory requirements and voluntary market-driven AI assurance.
According to Brendon Moo, NATA’s Head of Strategic Engagement & Communications; “NATA is pleased to be able to join this worthwhile initiative and we look forward to collaborating on a range of measures aimed at strengthening our quality infrastructure.”
