NATA has reached an important milestone with the completion of the first full Multi-Site Accreditation (MSA) assessment cycle, marking a significant step forward in how accreditation is delivered across facilities operating from multiple locations.
Introduced in January 2023, MSA was designed to provide a more efficient and streamlined accreditation model for facilities with centrally managed systems and consistent processes across sites. The successful completion of the first assessment programs demonstrates how MSA is delivering on this promise.
One of the key advantages of MSA is the reduction of unnecessary duplication of processes from the facility’s point of view which then results in reduced assessment effort for NATA. Where activities, systems and controls are centrally managed and consistently applied, assessments do not need to review the same processes at every location. This enables NATA to take a more targeted, risk-based approach, reducing disruption for members while maintaining confidence in technical competence and compliance.
NATA’s enhanced assessment planning for the whole accreditation cycle which includes a bespoke assessment program for the facility, allows for better use of assessment resources and a clearer understanding of where methods and activities have already been reviewed throughout the accreditation cycle.
The enhanced process creates a consolidated record of assessment coverage at each facility, helping ensure assessments remain focused on areas of greatest risk and importance. It also supports greater consistency across sites and provides a stronger foundation for future assessment planning.
