The work of organisations such as the Northern Australia Aboriginal Kakadu Plum Alliance (NAAKPA), led by Paul Saeki, demonstrates how Indigenous knowledge, research and innovation can come together to unlock the remarkable properties of native foods while creating opportunities for Aboriginal communities. It is a reminder that science is not owned by one discipline or one generation. It grows through shared knowledge, careful observation and a willingness to keep learning.
