Use of logos
NATA accredited organisations are strongly encouraged to promote their accreditation by issuing NATA endorsed reports and by using the NATA logo. As part of this process, it is each organisation’s responsibility to ensure that it describes its accreditation status accurately and stays within its Scope of Accreditation (SOA).
While we don’t mandate the issuing of NATA endorsed reports or use of logos, accredited organisations using these in publicity and advertising materials, technical literature, business reports, websites, quotes and tenders – enjoy a distinct market advantage including customer certainty, confidence and assurance regarding their products and services.
Validity of logos
Where an applicant or accredited organisation engages with a new provider, it is recommended they confirm the provider’s accreditation directly with the accreditation body and not simply accept the report or certificate on face value.
It is also important that when an applicant or accredited organisation uses an external provider, they ensure the service being provided is appropriate for the intended purpose.
This creates certainty in both activity and report outcomes.
Misuse of NATA logos
While we actively encourage our accredited members to utilise and benefit from the use of NATA logos, we also ask them to be vigilant in identifying incorrect or unauthorised use.
Use of Marks
Use of the Accredited CAB Combined ILAC MRA Mark
As a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and having signed the ILAC MRA Mark Agreement, NATA offer the ILAC MRA Mark for use by NATA accredited organisations.
The Accredited CAB Combined ILAC MRA Mark can be used by organisations holding accreditation within the following accreditation programs listed in the third schedule of the NATA Rules:
- Testing and Calibration – ISO/IEC 17025
- Human Pathology (medical testing) – ISO 15189
- Inspection – ISO/IEC 17020
- Proficiency Testing Providers – ISO/IEC 17043
- Reference Materials Producers – ISO 17034
The format of the Accredited CAB Combined ILAC MRA Mark is described in the fifth schedule of the NATA Rules.
The Accredited CAB Combined ILAC MRA Mark cannot be used prior to NATA approval being granted.
To make an application for the use of the Accredited CAB Combined ILAC MRA Mark, the Authorised Representative must complete and sign the Agreement and forward it to quality@nata.com.au.
