Envirocal, a Queensland-based provider of calibration, validation, and cleanroom performance testing, has become the first company in Australia accredited to perform on-site calibration of particle counters down to 0.1 micron.
Director Graeme Perry said the accreditation enables Envirocal to deliver greater compliance, reliability, and performance across its clients’ operations from validating cleanrooms and containment areas to calibrating critical instruments.
“We’ve tailored our accreditation to help reduce our customers’ risk while increasing their productivity,” he said.
Envirocal pursued the new accreditation after identifying challenges clients faced when sending instruments away for calibration including long turnaround times, freight risks, and occasional damage. In one case, a 0.1-micron particle counter sent overseas for calibration was returned beyond repair.
“With this accreditation, our clients now have options,” Perry said. “They can have instruments calibrated on-site or in our lab, saving time and reducing risk.”
Already NATA accredited in cleanroom performance testing, Envirocal extended its scope to include particle counter and photometer calibration, reinforcing its commitment to technically sound, independently verified, and globally recognised results.
“In Australia, NATA accreditation is a symbol of trust, knowledge, and quality,” Perry said. “It gives our clients confidence in traceable, defensible data they can rely on.”
Perry, also a NATA Technical Assessor, believes collaboration is key to strengthening technical standards across industries.
“Accreditation works best when we lift each other up,” he said. “Support from peers like the Australian Pressure Laboratory helped us navigate the process. By working collectively, we raise quality and integrity for everyone.”
