The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care has developed National Safety and Quality Medical Imaging (NSQMI) Standards which will replace the current DIAS standards.

The Commission is inviting you to review the draft NSQMI Standards and let them know whether:

  • There are safety and quality issues not addressed that should be
  • There is duplication or actions in the standards that could be removed
  • The requirements of the standards are clear and
  • What are the costs and benefits of moving to risk-based standards in medical imaging.

Once finalised, these standards will replace the existing Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme (DIAS).

The consultation is open until Friday 27 September 2024

You can make submissions here

Any feedback will inform the finalisation of the NSQMI Standards. The final standards will be released in 2025.
