Hinco Instruments a proudly Western Australian supplier of instrumentation and specialist calibration and repair services is celebrating a major milestone: its return to NATA accreditation, now formally recognised to ISO/IEC 17025.
This newly awarded scope strengthens confidence in the company’s expertise across a diverse suite of temperature measurement equipment, from thermocouples and RTDs to complete temperature measuring systems. Whether delivered in-house or on-site, these services now carry the additional assurance that comes with independent accreditation.
But Hinco’s reaccreditation is more than a new achievement it is the revival of a long and respected legacy.
Established in 1956, Hinco was one of Western Australia’s earliest pioneers in industrial instrumentation. That same year, the company earned its first NATA accreditation — Accreditation Number 546 — for heat, temperature, pressure and electrical testing. For more than five decades, Hinco played a trusted role in supporting the state’s rapidly expanding industrial landscape, with accredited competence underpinning its reputation for reliability.
That chapter paused when the former owner retired, and the accreditation was withdrawn after 55 years. Yet the strong foundations laid in those decades remained. When new leadership stepped in, they immediately recognised the continued strategic importance of accreditation — not just for Hinco’s business, but for the wider Western Australian industrial ecosystem that relies on high-quality measurement and calibration.
Fast forward to 2025: Hinco has officially regained NATA accreditation, now under Accreditation Number 21447. This comeback demonstrates resilience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to technical excellence. And thanks to its long history with accreditation, Hinco re-entered the process with clarity, experience, and a strong understanding of what was required to succeed.
Importantly, Hinco views this reaccreditation as far more than a compliance milestone. It sees NATA accreditation as a core foundation of its business — ensuring measurement accuracy, traceability, and technical competence that customers can rely on for critical decision-making. These are non-negotiable qualities that uphold safety and performance across every industry Hinco supports.
Reflecting on the process, Hinco credits NATA’s guidance and resources as key contributors to its smooth and successful accreditation journey. Technical support materials were clear and accessible, while ongoing communication with NATA staff and industry peers provided an invaluable network of advice and encouragement.
Hinco encourages other organisations seeking accreditation to take full advantage of this supportive ecosystem — proof that the journey is as collaborative as it is rigorous.
NATA congratulates Hinco Instruments on re-establishing its accreditation legacy and looks forward to seeing their expertise continue to strengthen industrial capability and technical excellence throughout Western Australia and beyond.
