NATA Board Appointments Announced

As NATA evolves to meet emerging challenges and opportunities, we believe the Board will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping policy, enhancing member value, and championing innovation, quality, and integrity in every aspect of our work. 

We extend our warm congratulations to the newly elected and continuing Board members and thank them for their dedication to NATA’s mission and the communities we serve. 

Re-Appointed Chair:  Sanmarié Schlebusch 

Sanmarié joined the NATA Board in 2018 becoming the Chair in December 2024. She is also currently the Deputy Chair for the Communicable Diseases Genomics Network of Australia and was previously a Board Director and Treasurer for Women’s Health Queensland Inc and also served in a number of management and governance roles within the health industry. 

An experienced medical practitioner and pathologist who brings insights in clinical governance and emerging trends in diagnostics. She has a number of qualifications in medicine and business and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA), Fellow of the Australian Society for Microbiology (FASM), Associate Fellow of the College of Health Services Management (AFCHSM), and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). 

Re-Appointed Director:  Tracey Hoitink 

First appointed in 2019, Tracey Hoitink is an experienced leader in pathology operations management with more than 20+ years’ working within pathology for both private and public providers.  

Tracey has a background in Microbiology where she worked as a scientist for many years before changing to administrative management operations within pathology. Tracey has specialist knowledge in pathology quality management, risk management and business continuity, and work health and safety management. 

Tracey has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Science, a Diploma in Risk Management and Business Continuity and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration working towards a Master of Business Administration (MBA). 

New Director: Matthew Tett 

Matt’s technical background is in telecommunications, information technology and networking, and specialist knowledge in testing/evaluation, road safety technologies, internetworking and cybersecurity. Demonstrating clear subject matter expertise in ICT strategy and Information Security Management.  

He possesses significant experience with the essential governance knowledge required to enable effective Board participation. With previous member-based industry board experience with the Internet Industry Association, then Communications Alliance. He was Co-Chair of the Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN), a NFP/Charity, and has experience with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission.
