COVID-19 saw a move to virtual assessment activities to ensure we continued to meet the accreditation needs of our prospective and existing members and the expectations of our stakeholders. The past year has allowed NATA to continue to develop remote assessment processes.
Moving forward from the experiences gained during the pandemic, NATA may now use remote assessments in defined situations where such assessments provide benefits and allow efficiencies to be gained.
It is not the intention for remote assessments to replace scheduled assessments (reassessments or surveillance visits) but instead serve as an additional tool to supplement on-site activities.
NATA has now developed a new policy, General Accreditation Criteria: Remote assessment policy, which details the criteria to be satisfied to allow for the conduct of a remote assessment.
This new policy is available in all NATA Accreditation Criteria (NAC) packages and will shortly be available from the NATA website and Members Portal. The new policy will be effective immediately from the date of publication.
This new policy is available in all NATA Accreditation Criteria (NAC) packages under the heading ‘General Accreditation Criteria’ available from the NATA website at https://nata.com.au/accreditation/standards/ and NATA Portal.
