12th October, Sydney – The National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) today held its 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and confirmed changes to its Board of Directors.  

In a Member vote prior to the meeting, Dr Jillian Disint, QHSE Director and TQR at Bureau Veritas Minerals and BVAQ Pty Ltd, a leader within the agri-food commodities fields, was elected and joined the NATA Board effective at the conclusion of the AGM. 

Tracey Farrar, Clinical Streams Manager at NSW Health Pathology, was reappointed for a second term on the NATA Board. 

David Turner, Technical Director at Simtars, a NATA Board member since 2004 and Chair since 2020, was also re-elected. 

And the term of Dr John Leeder, Managing Director and Company Secretary for Leeder Analytical, concluded at the completion of the meeting and we thank him for his contribution during office. 

A not-for-profit member organisation, NATA held its AGM virtually via Zoom from the organisation’s Sydney offices. The meeting included the acceptance of NATA’s audited Annual Report for the financial year ended June 30, 2022, which is now available on nata.com.au.

2022 also marked notable anniversaries for accreditation programs, with the NATA/RCPA accreditation program for human pathology laboratories reaching 40 years and NATA/ASA accreditation program for sleep disorder services celebrating 10 years. 

NATA CEO Jennifer Evans said: “It’s been a busy 12 months for those of us at NATA. I wanted to thank members, volunteers, stakeholders and staff for their support as accreditation activities and assessments have continued to be impacted by the pandemic. The adaptability we’ve seen across our members in response to challenges presented has been very impressive.

“We’ve also celebrated our 75th year and hopefully through initiatives like our anniversary documentary and events including ‘’Why Accreditation Matters you’ve seen a bigger presence from NATA over the past 12 months.  

“With updates coming to ISO15189 and ISO/IEC 17043, NATA has played an active role in the review of Standards which we will support in 2023 with a roadshow to offer guidance on the upcoming changes.”
