This course is designed for Quality Managers and laboratory staff with responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of a Quality Management System. It explores all the key factors that need to be implemented to successfully achieve a best practice quality system by developing leaders who will engage new approaches and shape actions through sound judgement and decision making.

A sound quality system drives consistent and reliable results. Building and maintaining an effective and sustainable quality system involves key components that must be considered and developed. This course looks at all aspects of the laboratory’s quality system to ensure it enables meeting the technical competency requirements of international quality management system Standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189.
Course objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- identify elements of good laboratory practices
- identify quality requirements relating to the organisation
- implement a management system to achieve effective control over laboratory processes
- meet the needs of customers and accreditation requirements
- implement best practice and factors to continuously improve the laboratory’s operations and implement risk-based thinking.
